2008/2009 - Trends and Tribulations

Happy New Year to all! 2008 was a whirlwind of a year: High gas prices, home foreclosures, larger than life businesses crumble and bailouts. Since the past year seemed like "The beginning of the end", quite a few trends remain and opportunities have flourished from the dismal 2008 downturn.

Believe it or not luxury items are still a hot seller. Consumers who are conscious of spending and transportation habits, discount products and services are just as busy.
A down economy opens up many doors & opportunities for entrepreneurs and corporations. the businesses and consumer who has been smart with money management are reaping the benefits in a depressed market.

The trends in 2009 will be a hot bed for the business-minded and consumer for years ahead such as, the green sector. U.S. consumers are very much concerned about the economy than environmental issues at the moment, but are willing to pay more for green product alternatives opposed to the usual available non-green products. This more conscious way of thinking opens a huge door for entrepreneurs and established companies looking to cater to this new way of thinking.

Other areas of of opportunity are: Clean Energy (solar, wind and geothermal),Organic Foods, Organic Non-Foods (pet food, household products/cleaners,fiber,supplements and personal care) and even Organic Apparel presents opportunities for the taking.

The "Top 10" business opportunities in a weak economy:

  1. Business Coaching
  2. Social Networking
  3. Alternative Fuels
  4. Environmental Services
  5. Health Care
  6. Nail Salons and Beauty Products
  7. Discount Retailers
  8. Luxury Products

2009 is going to be a new beginning of a new era that will be breaking new ground for entrepreneurs, consumers and businesses who are are interested in taking advantage of these services to manage life and/or work with a conscious.
