Calvin Klein, fashion designer born November 1942, in the Bronx section of New York city was raised in the middle class Jewish community of 1st and 2nd generation immigrants. CK developed his passion for fashion and drawing in his teenage years, mostly spending endless hours sketching women in suits and dresses.
After graduating from the High School of Art and Design, Klein studied apparel design at Manhattan's Fashion Institute of Technology. In 1968 Calvin Klein launched his own clothing company, inspired by the fresh and unique style of New York's urban youth. Word spread quickly throughout the fashion industry about the Calvin Collection sleek, stylish designs and ultimately his work was being featured regularly in Vogue and Harper's Bazaar magazine.
