Online Shopping - Trends, Security and You!

Since the U.S economic downturn and hints of recession & european manufacturers costs rise, fashion merchandise buyers still look to T.V. and film (movie stars) for what is popular for high-end and bargain shoppers to be current and in style. Programs and films such as, "Sex in the City" and "Gossip Girl" are the start of what has a huge influence on young, trendy shoppers as well as the seasoned, fashion conscious buyer, from the 5th Ave shopper to the Target & JC Penny buyer. Now that credit availability is shrinking and in some cases interest rates rising on credit cards, Cash/debit is king for the bargain shopper.

Fashion and style play a major role for most Men and Women when it comes to "feeling good" about themselves and/or status representation of "doing well" whether its subtle or flashy. Fashion Handbags, Jewelry, wristwatches, clothing and perfume oils all play a major part and are available to all consumers. You might not be able to afford that $500-$1000 item, but with a little research and an eye for trends can yield great rewards at a bargain or discount.

Bargains or replicas are great, but if it is not made well or of poor quality it is no bargain at all. Since online shopping is the ever growing choice for consumers and growing daily, aside from the big, well-known retailers finding a trusted niche retailer / merchant that stands behind their service and products is difficult with all of the scams and frauds that are prevalent to the industry.

Contact information and a short "about us" or biography is a start to a clear understanding of who you are dealing with when it comes to your personal information. The things to look for at the very least are:

  • Secured and encrypted web shop
  • email and contact phone number
  • Name of contact person or department
  • return and/or exchange policy
  • Address of business
These are typical and well known guidelines for consumers, just be sure that in this enviroment that the online mall or web shop you use has this information as a bare minimum in order to feel somewhat safe and secure when shopping online.

Happy and Safe Shopping!
